Some of the most lasting effects of the Prophet Elijah’s ministry occurred after what seemed like his greatest defeat. Just as it took great strength and courage for Elijah to arise out of his cave of isolation to anoint God’s chosen leaders, it will take great courage for us to face the intimidation of our day and vote the men and women into office that God has placed His seal upon.

I saw a vast army of women walking with resolute determination on their faces. They were 10 to 15 women wide in a very long line. They were not quite marching but walking firmly and covering quite a bit of ground.

“We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so we despaired of life itself… ” These are very familiar words. They are, indeed, the words of the apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 1:8. Paul goes on to say that it felt like they had received a death sentence (verse 9). Then we put that together with Paul’s words from 1 Corinthians 10:13 that says that “God will not let you be tested beyond your strength, that He will provide a way out so that you can endure it.” The fact is, both are right. Both need to be held in tension with each other.

There was little doubt that the Spirit was teaching me when visions given to me and led to biblical passages that explain them. Such it was with the day that I saw a great flood over parched land and then streams in the desert. In the first vision a huge dam stood on my left and in front of it, the land was parched such as in a drought.
