How Energized Spaces Can Transform Your Life | Sadhguru

A few months ago I saw what turned out to be the invitation by our President to invite between 100 and 120 Evangelical pastors to the White House for a dinner. What followed that revelation and the dinner was astounding. I saw a revival break out across the world with great worship and dancing in the Spirit.

Over many centuries the blind has led the blind and the deaf have failed to hear. Many have cried in agony for answers and have died unknowing of their connection to the real God, the Great Spirit of the Universe. As the so-called sacred statues and man’s attempts at worship have failed them there has been no way that the truth could be shown.

Some praying people are conditioned to think that their prayers, however small, won’t be heard, let alone answered. Let’s not call it wrong, but theirs is a doubting faith. There is an opposite kind of person who prays big prayers in the fullest expectancy of their prayers being answered. Let’s not call it right, but theirs is an expectant faith.

It’s not what it sounds but it is what works. It doesn’t sound encouraging but it is encouraging. What happens in life is when we’re down, the kitchen sink is thrown at us. Ever noticed that? Not one or two issues, but what seems like ten or fifteen, simultaneously, in stereo. The day I began writing this article was one of those days. The day I finish and post this article is a new day, praise God.

Selling the Christian faith has come to be one of the core competencies of evangelicals. This has its roots in extending Jesus’ Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) within the circles of our influence. But, there are parts of the faith-life that don’t always sit well. These are some of the realities that Christians can struggle with.

For what is a perennial issue in life, that just so happens to be covered beautifully by the Bible, the issues of forgiveness and reconciliation in relationships are quite literally tired and worn. Are there many people not affected by relationships that have gone wrong? Are there many people not inhibited by ongoing strained relations? Are there not already a huge percentage of people battling to forgive family members and best friends who have done the dirty? Are there not already so many people, us included, who have already hurt others beyond repair? And, finally, are there many people who don’t yet feel avoidant for some as they enter even a shopping mall? Just how much do broken relationships account for stress in our lives? And why is it that some broken relationships can never be reconciled at least to the point of peace to let bygones be bygones?

It often surprises me the multiplicity of this faith we Christians profess. But it is typical that we do not draw on the full powers that are given to us, because we err on the side of the world’s power.

Empathy in the individual is a massively important quality. Though it is a felt kind of trait, not strictly related with intelligence quotient, I think it is a cornerstone in the development of intelligence. Here’s why. When we have the capacity of feeling for others, we truly connect with our world and the fiasco of self is ended. At least that is the theory!

In the simplest terms, if we don’t have the courage of humility to consider truthfully the darkness that resides within each of us, we have no hope of truly knowing God. If there is no darkness within, there is no need of repentance. Only those who need God, get God.

I do not lose well. Let me just say that upfront. Anyone who knows me might know that about me. That is why I feel qualified to write on this topic, because I need it as much as anyone.

Just as we cannot suppose that achieving spiritual perfection is possible, like all spiritual things these must be tried on, for spirituality is experience. It isn’t a craft to be mastered but practiced.

Do you need a Safe Keeper? Someone who is there for you, who will never leave you nor abandon you. Someone who will understand you at all times, but will also help you challenge yourself for your own good. Someone who is always reasonable, who is always on time, who never gets it wrong, even though life will leave you with all sorts of doubts as to how good a safe keeper He is.
