Many have the experience of hearing their name called when there is no one else around. You can be on a desert island and hear it or walking along the street, in the garden, or even in bed. Suddenly and without reason something calls out your name and you are instantly stopped in your tracks.

There is only one way one can do this and that is through the memory of reincarnation. In my case I was a man, nothing special and probably without much to leave behind. As my ‘being’ (call it spirit) floated above the body there were some noticeable things.

For the longest time I believe I was seeking God because I thought if I was consistent in my seeking then He would reward me. But today I was reading Matthew 6:33 and it hit me that I no longer do this. I feel as if I have returned to a child-like love for Him.

We often talk about a person’s walk with Christ. That’s because the feet tell us two very important facts about someone: where one is standing and which way someone is going. It’s not a trick question, but one that most people need to think about who are expecting the rapture at the end of the day. What happens when we yearn for change and growth in our lives, and suddenly, we are presented with the opportunity for which we have longed? If you are like me, an inner part of you responds with an excited “Yes, yes, yes!” Then fear kicks in, and your mind starts its flurry of all the reasons why you should retreat and stay where all is known – its version of safe and secure.

Holding what we hold lightly; that’s the juice of life, for we hold on too tightly to the things we value, and we say, “I cannot live without you.” But the truth is, we can.

The dictionary defines deception as deliberately causing someone to believe something that is not true. Anyone can practice deception because it is one of those sins…

I quiver with fear and trembling that I believe is from God, even as I broach this topic. It’s a topic with which I can presently speak. God has reason to break me for His glory this season… get that. I don’t write these words for my glory… I write them because I still rely too much on the things of this world and on my flesh. We all tend to do the same thing.
