God owns everything. What difference should that make in your life?

Christians, like unbelievers, often do all too little to escape their troubles, so their suffering lingers longer than necessary. Passively enduring adversity that can be put behind the sufferer with a little effort makes no sense to this author.

What happened at Pentecost and how is this so highly relevant to the Church of Jesus Christ today? Why does this matter? It is much more important than many really realise. They were gathered together in one place, at the one time and they were united. Someone had organised it and all were present and Jesus Christ blessed that gathering. They knew and understood something of the fundamentals and basics of discipleship from the very beginning. Over these past 45 years I have met very few people who have understood the basics of discipleship. But read the account which is given us in Acts Chapter 2. Whenever someone reads the Word of God and opens himself or herself to the Word of God our living loving gracious God is so willing and eager to bless and reward.
