DECEMBER 18, 2003, was a special day. Late morning I strolled to a nearby park and began running laps. It was a hot day, but I cannot recall feeling hot. At one point, as I was praying, I was brought to a standstill and then I was dropped to my knees; tears of replete joy streaming down my face, a giant goose bump consumed my entire being.

The transformational state is based on pure awareness in the ‘Now’; the future is taken care of by that holistic state of mind. In contrast, paths to preset goals sustain the ego through expected fulfillment; the ‘Now’ is relegated as a mere passage.

When we think of attack, it usually brings to mind images of war or some sort of physical assault. In A Course in Miracles (ACIM), attack means much more than causing bodily harm. We’ve all been the victim of less obvious attacks where we come away feeling all alone, angry and victimized by others; and in return, we victimize them by retaliating. All attack is considered a call for love because the person is experiencing a condition of the idea of separation. We never attack another unless we already agreed (chose) to believe ourselves separate and different.

Amazonite, also called Amazon Jade, is a semi-opaque, green to blue-green variety of microcline feldspar that is often streaked with white. Its colour was once thought to be caused by copper compounds; however more recent studies suggest that the blue-green colour is the result of small quantities of lead and water.It is named after the Amazon River in Brazil, from which certain green stones were formerly obtained, but it is doubtful whether Amazonite occurs in the Amazon basin. In fact fine quality Amazonite has been mistaken for Jade. It is relatively soft at 6-6.5 on the Mohs scale.

This is an offshoot of a conversation that gave me time to think about religion and its aim. Right now, religion says that it is the way to salvation. The question then is, which religion should we really follow, and how would we know that it is correct?

Be willing to be inconvenienced. It may seem small to you, but you don’t know what kind of impact your obedience will have when you step out in faith and obey Him in the little things. Being sensitive to God’s word and being obedient to Him. The benefit of giving.

Those who have been ‘born again’ – those who have been born physically, and ‘born again’ spiritually, as Jesus spoke about In John Chapter 3, will only die once. Those who have only been born once, will die twice. Now, I hope this is clear, because it is eternally crucial. Who is influencing you? Who influences you most of all? Is it the risen and living Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Word, or is it some other influential spirit or force? These are vital issues because they are real and they have eternal significance.

After a thousand years of perfect government, God shows, that even if Jesus Christ ran the earth, and even with Jesus Christ in total control of government, people will not change. They will not be transformed radically. Environmentalists need to learn and know this. Yes, it is right to seek to improve the environment as much as man possibly can, but that will not change and transform man. Perfect government is not the answer.

Are Christians aware of this today? Do people know that those who are called and faithful and chosen by Jesus Christ and who are ‘born again’ will one day reign with Jesus Christ when He returns? It is an exciting future which awaits those who are in Christ Jesus, and that is why it is good to take time now to ensure that all is well with your life when He returns. Repent and believe and be baptised in water and receive the anointing power of the Holy Spirit. That helps a man lay the basic foundation on which everything else can be built. Within an ordinary light bulb there is a positive wire and a negative wire. Both are needed to give the light and the power to dispel the darkness.

There are people working for things today, seeking to build up certain things today, which our holy righteous God is going to remove and destroy. That is why Jesus calls us to go for the real treasure which will not perish – the treasure hidden in the field, which will not be eaten away be decay or inflation, nor rust, nor be stolen by thieves breaking in. Jesus Christ taught all that when He walked on this earth. When Jesus Christ comes again and conquers all evil, He will reign on the earth, and He will show what it can be like when He is in control of everything. All sin and evil influences are cleared out of the way. First, He clears away evil and wickedness, and then the Lord reigns, physically and visibly. He not only comes in a negative sense, to clear the site, but He comes in a positive way.
