When Cups appear within a reading, it is usually indicative of things relating to the “heart of the matter” or things within the emotional realm; although they may not always be expressed outwardly or even fully understood and known at the given time. Cups helps us to understand how our energy and thoughts are amplified and how it enhances anything we focus upon because of its association with water and emotions.

Finally Spring has emerged regardless of what the weather is. Some areas may still be feeling the effects of winter giving rise to “cabin fever” and the need to kick things into gear with spring cleaning, reorganizing, re-prioritizing and preparing for life to get busy once again.

Each New Year provides us the ability to start anew, set goals and with any luck have a better, happier and more prosperous year than the last. However, the previous year may have been filled with challenges, obstacles and changes that have taken the zest out of life leaving some filled with apprehension as to what to expect in the coming New Year.

During these challenging times, we may often feel bewildered or even taken completely by surprise by the events that transpire around us. However, if we look at things from a more positive stand point all of this wackiness serves a purpose in helping to reestablish priorities, as well as, to force a resolution to things that aren’t working in your favor or to bring things out of alignment back into proper perspective after shattering the illusions that have built walls and created riffs within relationships or circumstances.

When life gets crazy and things seemed to be turned upside down, the most important thing we can do is keep our eyes on the horizon and our mind on whatever goals we’re trying to achieve. Because focusing upon the drama, chaos and confusion only intensifies those elements at play further wreaking havoc within your life.

The Hierophant usually enters our life during the time in which we are seeking understanding in our quest for the meaning of life. Often times, the Hierophant may physically represent a priest, spiritual mentor, teacher or therapist of some sort that offers comfort and assistance during our times of confusion or during appropriate times in which we are needing direction.

Imagine walking into an Angel Idea Supermarket. There are rows upon rows of Ideas stacked perfectly, reaching far out into the horizon, rising up into the clouds, floors deep into the earth. Each labeled. Each with expiration dates. Each waiting for us to enter the store, and buy it.

Many individuals who are learning to read the Tarot often times become concerned with the accuracy of the interpretation. This is understandable, but also sometimes quite confusing. When doing a reading don’t get obsessive over the meaning and outcome of the reading. That may sound like a contradiction in terms but really it’s not if you truly stop for a moment and think about it.

Most often during our doubt and worry of whether or not we are interpreting the cards accurately, we tend to get so caught up in the “game” of battle of the wills within ourselves. Simply put, we go through a period of time in which we try to talk our self out of trusting our intuition in essence; whether that is evident or not is beside the point. Typically, we are taught to question everything we think or feel. To be skeptical and to try steering clear of anything deemed different or against the grain. This leads to a vicious cycle of self-doubt and incessant worry over whether or not what we are feeling or intuit is actually our intuition or is it something we heard or read somewhere?

For centuries the use of Tarot has found its way into the pages of history time-after-time in various and unusual ways. If you study some of the older paganistic cultures you will find a great deal of information pointing to the use of Tarot cards for foretelling the future, as well as, a tool for ritualistic purposes during ceremony. So what exactly does all this mean you may be asking.

With the mass information readily available pertaining to the Tarot, you may find yourself at times overwhelmed by all of the methods, meanings, decks, books, techniques and layouts, and so forth. I know first-handedly that in the beginning something that should be somewhat easy to understand can easily turn into an total nightmare with the mass overload of information. Whether it’s the Tarot specifically or any other endeavor in our life, we tend to follow suit with expected standards and as a result take something simple and turn it into a battle of our wills doubting ourselves and our abilities because that is how we have been “programmed” to react.

I have often been asked, “What is the best way to go about learning how to read and interpret the Tarot cards?” “Should I follow the book to a tee or go with what I personally feel the card means?” “Why is it so confusing, why are there so many different methods?” “What am I really supposed to do with the cards?” Perhaps one or two of the aforementioned questions have crossed your mind at some point along the way.
