Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) is best known as the creator of Sherlock Holmes, the consulting detective whose cases written up in novels and short stories have been enjoyed by lovers of crime fiction for over a century. This was an important aspect of Conan Doyle’s public persona. But there was another, more hidden side, to his life and works, which has unfolded in a manner more remarkable and mysterious than anything he could dream up in a Sherlock Holmes’ plot. This is Part 1 of that story…

This is where leadership is so vitally important. Leaders need a vision if they are going to be good sound positive practical leaders. In times of testing, people have been given a vision from the throne of God. Isaiah saw a throne, as did Ezekiel and Daniel. As God seeks to reassure His people, He reminds them that the ultimate authority belongs to Him, and His throne reminds us too of perfect order. This is the throne, and this is the living God, before whom we bow in prayer, and all this is flowing my recent reading and study of that amazing book called, Revelation! Some steer clear of it because it can appear scary or frightful but there is no need for that. It is God’s holy Word and it is there to enlighten, strengthen and fortify. This is the king we worship, and we worship none other. This is the highest authority in the universe and we have access to the one who sits upon the throne.

Now, as Christians, we are committed to love God with everything we’ve got. We are also committed to love our neighbors as we would ourselves. We now have a responsibility before God to keep a watch over our ourselves as well as our neighbors and to help others to overcome evil in their lives.

In this vision, John sees an open door and John hears a voice, and as he looks through the open door, the voice says, “Come up here and I will show you what must take place after this”. How would you have reacted to such an unusual and exciting invitation? John sees right into heaven. We move into a different area and breathe a different air. We begin to see things between the two comings of Jesus Christ. Yes, Jesus Christ is coming again, and we never know how soon how that may be although there are certain specific signs and some of these are currently visible for those who have eyes to see. The first thing John sees is a throne and sitting upon that throne is the living God. As we give thanks to the God the Father and the Holy Spirit for raising Jesus Christ from the dead, we are reminded that this same God is reigning and ruling.

The modern church has a problem with giving. This isn’t my opinion it’s statistical fact.

Christian suffering is a reality! This is because everyone who desires to live godly in Christ will suffer persecution. But the good news is that God will deliver you from them all. Our lives can be enriched by paying attention to the wider consciousness beyond the limited cocoon within which our habitual mind revolves. We get a glimpse of its greatness by looking into the descriptions of those who experience the Oneness in that pervasive awareness.

A young man decided to give up his marriage due to the wayward advice of a would-be, so-called trusted guide. This young man was swindled and so was his bride – the wife of 3 years. They probably had some sort of future had it not been for this young man’s mother’s vitriolic will.

Conceivably we need to be fully developed humans before we focus on our spiritual nature. It is in ignoring or skipping over our humanity that our souls find unrest. We can’t skip a step. It doesn’t work! It will backfire on us– and it has.

Do you appreciate and honour your life for the amazing experience it really is, even during times when you have stood in the shadow of a dark cloud? Don’t look at these dark clouds with fear and trepidation; instead, look for the gift that each cloud brings.
