Jesus says, “You will know a tree by its fruits.” If you want to make decisions according to the will of God, then you must start by knowing what the goal is: joy. Let me tell you what I mean…

Each month we experience a new moon then two weeks later a full moon. I think everyone has experienced the feeling of full moon energy, did you know new moons, positive and negative ions influence you too? A new moon is a good time to let go of old ways to bring new energy into your life. During a full moon emotions, psychic energy and physical activity – everything is at its maximum. This is the time of increased creativity; however for people prone to high blood pressure, epilepsy or over excitement, the full moon period can bring too much excess.

Recently, I was visited by Jehovah’s Witnesses and, unlike many people, I usually have a decent chat with them on the doorstep. I suppose I can recall about three separate occasions over the years when we have had such conversations.

What if we were to each extend random acts of blessing to people we meet on a daily basis? I have the wonderful opportunity to do music therapy in nursing homes. When I hand musical instruments to residents and I see the joy on their faces as they play the sticks, the bells, and the maracas, I know that they have been blessed.

If your goal is happiness, then Thanksgiving Day is the most important day of the year. If gratitude is the most important spiritual practice we can adopt to bring happiness and joy into our lives, wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could turn Thanksgiving Day into a daily spiritual practice?

Japa: translated means ‘Recitation”. It is the recitation of a mantra under the direction of a Guru or spiritual teacher. A mantra is a single or group of words usually in the Sanskrit language, their subtle tones quieten the mind and the energetic vibration creates a force field which penetrates the subtle bodies. This results in a refining of the practioner’s vibration and has a profound cleansing effect on the mind. When St Paul lamented his carnal, unspiritual nature saying that he continued to do things that he hated and did not do the good things he really desired to do, it was his higher self speaking. We all have such a self with aspirations and desires that align with God’s purposes.

A while back, I made a post on the issue: why would God create the spider wasp? Today, I received the following question from a reader and, as my reply was beginning to get a bit long-winded, I thought that instead, I would attempt to answer it here in open forum.

We wrestle against powers and principalities in high places, not flesh and blood. Jesus died on Calvary and upon declaring ‘It is Finished!’ Satan was defeated in every facet of our lives. Our selfish desires and not keeping our hearts and minds set on Jesus cost people greatly each day. The Bible tells us to be anxious for nothing, but the culture we live in today thrives in a faster, faster and more productive mind set. The world is looking for answers to all of life’s events and it is looking to Christians to demonstrate what Christ has intended for this life….peace, joy, and security in knowing that God has our lives in his hands and our lives have been planned for his ‘good pleasure.’
