Four Corners of Human Need
INBUILT WITHIN our humanity is the need to be right, happy, prosperous, and free. Our spirits are hardwired these four ways and we defeat only ourselves if we deny these spiritual urges. If we want to be right, we need to be honest. If we want to be happy, we need to have courage. If we want to be prosperous, we need to be diligent. If we want to be free, we need to let go.
Do You Feel Alone, Even In Church? If you’re yearning to get closer to God, there are certain definite principles from the Bible you should live by. Your relationship with God determines how vibrant your life can become. If your motives are pure and your heart is sensitive, everything can change in your life.
Love of SelfYour attitude toward yourself is the first and the most important place to plant the seeds of love, for if you will not deal lovingly with yourself, you will stumble in all your other love relationships even if you repress the pain of not cherishing yourself. The state of your love of self is also a good measure of your spiritual maturity and your emotional health. It says much about your intentions regarding your own psychological and temporal future. What do you intend to enjoy and achieve in the future? How much of your potential are you going to invest in yourself? What are the good things of earth life that you expect to create for yourself and your loved ones? How much do you intend to contribute to others in the world around you?
Hedonism TheologyChristian hedonism is a Biblically based theology, yet so many people reject it. They reject it because they don’t understand hedonism and they don’t understand the Bible. We are all hedonists in a way, but this is the truth behind why we all are…
Ascension Myths – Freeing Yourself of Ascension IrrationalitiesEarlier this year Harold Camping boldly claimed that May 21, 2011 would be the day of rapture (“ascension”) for many Christian believers and that six months later, the rest of the world would be destroyed. Living the Good Life, TrulyLiving the good life is to know, and ascribe to, the wisdom of surrendering all before God. Only when we lose the puny world’s power – that which promises much, yet delivers astoundingly little – will we stand to gain the irrefutable power of risen grace.
Preoccupation With How Others Perceive YouWhat actually makes you uneasy and conforming is not the idea itself but the fear attached to the idea. It would be really a rare discovery to find a human who does not think how others perceive him. It’s just that some us cannot resist being sucked into conformation to others.
Faith or Fear – Which One Guides Your Heart?Faith is the evidence of things not seen, yet believed. The acronym of fear is: False Evidence Appearing Real. Why the ‘Fear of the LORD’There are two starkly different ways of looking at the fear of God/the LORD. Many people are scared of God, and don’t believe because of their fear. Indeed, many in the Old Testament times had good reason to fear. And, many may still have good reason to fear God today. This is an ‘afraid’ type of fear we’re talking about. The other type of fear, as those biblically-grounded people will know, is the fear of the LORD – a concept rooted in discipleship and the fundament of godly Wisdom. The second type of fear has actually nothing to do with fear, per se, but everything to do with humility, respect, and awe before God.
