Exiles were we all. But this is no longer the case. Where once there were tears, and justifiably so, there is instead reward for the work of acceptance: because of the cross, “It is finished.” (John 19:30) Now we have the freedom to work for the Kingdom.

It’s an honour to be used by God – to be selected, of all human beings, and placed in our situation, at our time, with the resources open to us, and to use all that to serve the Lord in our mortal beings. As we focus on God, and not on externalities, our Lord speaks encouragement and challenge to us. To feel anointed is what the purpose of life is all about.

Sacred and Profane. Heart and Head. We often experience these concepts as opposing forces. What would it mean, and how would life be different, if we accepted both as positive components of our human nature?

It is very easy to know how to live today so as to know where will you go when you die. But the trick is in implementing what you know.

Do you really think that this life is all that you have? Have you never bothered to question, where will you go when you die? Most people do not even bother to care about such thoughts.

Even if you are told that it is the last moment of your life, the chances of you thinking where will you go when you die, are very slim. Where will you go when you die will be a thought that would be farthest from your mind When you are told that you have a few months to live or a few days or a few weeks or a few hours or a few minutes, you will become scared perhaps. Or if you are strong and bold, you will just resign yourself to the inevitable.

Notwithstanding our faith, we’ll all have moments of doubt – will we really meet Jesus at the end of it all? But the faithfulness of God is faithful in this: what God has promised will surely come to pass.

Heaven can be believed because of the concept of abundance that’s eternally present. Heaven is abundance – myriads more abundant, possibly, than even the known universe. And as heaven is abundance, so also is God. Nothing that God is or does is not abundant; even to the smallest piece of matter in comparison with entire creation.
