What is the greatest book ever written? Some would say the Bible. Some would argue the Koran, Bhagavahd Ghita, I ching, or another religious text…

I talked to an ethics professor once who was trying to get me to join her class. She told me that her first problem in teaching ethics is to convince others that something is wrong. For instance in the fields of sports and politics, bribes and giving gifts and money in certain circumstances are wrong to do or accept.

Have we not all heard that there are wolves in sheep’s clothing out there in religious circles? When we look at leaders and others to see if they are wolves, do we look for wolves or do we look for sheep? It seems to me that we get fooled, if not by others, then by ourselves in this process.

Circumstances are allowed by God to teach and strengthen us, and not to hurt and punish us. He wants us to step above it and not under it.

You know, reality that is legitimate does not always smell good and look perfect. Yet, that is how many snake oil salespeople of spirituality are who have broken through to the whole spiritual reality of the situation but will not tell people what they really know.

This article explains some of the myths about God talking to certain people, televangelists, preachers, and such. I explain that in order to understand these false claims, one has to learn about who or what God really is and how it is motivated. I try to explain not so much what God is, but what God is not.

I don’t want to keep perpetuating what we’ve all been conditioned to live, the lie. I think that belongs in caps: The Lie. Knowing it was all a lie, or at best just a guess, I can’t bear to impose it on my own kid, just because there is nothing preferable to replace it.

Faith can help your dreams come to pass in a powerful way. You can lean on God and his word to resurrect any dreams that you have let die.

We have the present example of the revolts in Egypt and Libya. As turmoil arose in these countries, the Governments of all nations hurried to withdraw their citizens from harm’s way and bring them back to their countries or to a safe place.

We must extend our worship to the farthest reaches of our conscious lives, for through our worshipful ways we experience God. We should yearn after God’s Presence these ways, desiring more and more infilling of the Spirit that gives life; and that, through us, so our worship truly glorifies God.

If you’re like me, you have plenty of friends who are willing to offer advice about any aspect of your life. They may be good friends and have genuine intentions, but is their wisdom and advice purely from a godly viewpoint or just what they would do in your circumstances?

Do you know that God has made you the exactly perfect receptacle in which to deposit His Spirit? It does not matter if you are young or old, male or female, tattooed, hairy, scrawny, or fit as a fiddle. God made you the perfect dwelling place for His power, His grace, His purpose.
