Extinguishing complacency is my moment to moment objective. Now that is a loaded question, and one I have been pondering for about a week. These powerful institutions include such stalwarts as central bankers, governments, multinational corporations, cartels, and even the finely suited thieves on Wall Street. Everything that happens in the universe can be viewed as interaction between various macro systems, subsystems, and micro systems.

None of the species on this Earth is meant to act in a superior manner toward any other. Exploitation in any form may bring short-term benefits but results in long-term losses. Exploiting humans or animals reflects loss of power and freedom for both the exploiter and the exploited. We have entered a time when every action not serving the highest interest of all involved, and that includes every person and animal on this planet, is backfiring immediately. Those who exploit animals to reap financial benefit and those who eat them or what they produce, are now treading the path of self-annihilation (of their physical bodies) through disease.

Every journey in life needs places of encouragement to keep us focused on making it to completion. A spiritual journey is no different and like any journey we make in life it also has its key markers that dictate to us what progress we have made. The difference between a spiritual journey and other journeys is that there is a constant discovery of something new within us. In other words we are not reborn once but every time there is a significant spiritual change within us. Our Lord says we should live each day as it comes and not regard for raiment or food for the next day. He teaches us how to ask and believe that we have received. There are many more of his teachings that dictate our spiritual journey.
