An Ungrateful Guest
There was once a farmer who extended uncommon hospitality towards a destitute stranger who passed by his farm looking for lodging. The young stranger soon became involved in life on the farm, helping out wherever he could and he was also wholly accepted as a member of the family. The farmer had three sons who were very close and loved and respected their father dearly.
Psalm 129 – The Enemy Will Not Win!Many psalms show divisions of thought where the psalmist perhaps commences with a lament, or alternatively a position of praise, before noting some of God’s qualities, then ending with a promise to trust. Psalm 129 is not like this at all.
Zaccheus: The Day God Visited the Baddest Boy in TownHe realised he was despised by his own people. He was not only a tax collector on behalf of their Roman oppressors, but he often extorted much more from them than was legally due. He wanted to live lavishly and this dishonest practice had become his source of feeding his love for the “good life”.
Emulating the Gentle Character of JesusJesus encouraged us to learn from in Matthew 11:29, where He says: Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle. Read more…
As Our World Changes – We Must Also Change! That title makes sense doesn’t it? As our world changes, we must also change, as the old saying goes, “go with the changes”! This one is pretty heavy though, and we have a lot of work to do if we want to adapt to the changes. What does this mean?

We Can Use Words To Destroy Or To Build UpWith his mouth the godless destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous escape (Proverbs 11:9) NIV The power of our words is a theme that runs consistently through the Bible, and is emphasized by Jesus Himself when He says, “But I tell you that men will have to give an account on the Day of Judgment for every careless word spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” (Matthew 12:36-37).
Jesus Calms Our FearsThey were terrified, “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
How to Discover Your Life’s Purpose!Do you ever feel that sometimes your life seems a bit stuck and you feel like you are just drifting! This is not a nice feeling and can leave us feeling insecure and lost with no idea of our destination! There has to be more to life than that?
Giving Due Thanks for What We Are ReceivingThe LORD is to be offered an “acceptable worship” – which is how we live our lives, not how we sing on Sundays. The mood of our entire lives is to be “reverence and awe” for the size of life and eternity – its height, width, length and depth (Ephesians 3:18-19). Encapsulating life is unconscionable and the fact that God is a “consuming fire” should magnify our awe. The fire of God – which is an urgent purging of all wickedness – is completely just.
Looking Into The Mirror of PrayerFor all this time, I thought I was praying. At times, I was even impressed with my prayers. And oh, the fear the would beset me if I neglected to pray!
A Revelation Of God’s GraceGrace is a Bible subject well worth studying. After all, the entire Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is centered upon it. God’s grace is the most wonderful thing ever revealed to man. Because of His grace we have hope of everlasting life and a glorious future. This is not a subject to be taken lightly at all. There are varied definitions of grace and each are correct in its particular place. Grace is the revelation of God’s love for mankind and His deep desire to be involved in our lives. When we embrace His grace, we will also experience His peace and joy, which knows no boundaries. Grace is God’s unmerited favor, but so much more. Indeed, all that God does for us is the result of His grace. His goodness is His grace in operation. We all need God’s grace and mercy. And, because of Jesus Christ, we can all experience it in great abundance.
