This Is Not Faith – Jesus’s Teachings According to Eckhart Tolle

There was a missionary who came home a number of years ago, and spoke in College describing how he led one man to Christ, but only one man, and the professor chairing the Missionary Society meeting announced at the end that he would rather have been able to do that than write all the best books in the library. It is the Season of Advent during these four weeks leading up to what is called Christmas Day, although Jesus Christ was born during the Feast of Tabernacles, which is in late September or early October. The prophet Isaiah was told to preach a word of comfort to strengthen and fortress the people of God who had been going through a very rough and bad period. They needed the note of comfort then, just as we today so need it, and the only real practical comfort for us which lasts and lasts comes from the grace and mercy and care and compassion of Almighty God, through His risen and living Son, Jesus Christ. What does God think of what we are doing across the world today? What does He feel as He contemplates the human scene?

The covenant nature of the LORD to save, redeem and heal is demonstrable to the farthest star. Heaven too attests to the wondrous praise due God. It is humanity’s right response too.

We enter the Season of Advent and that word ‘advent’ refers to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and that involves a spiritual breakthrough and who would deny that we so desperately need a spiritual breakthrough in these present days when sin is bringing down nations as the consequences of economic and financial mismanagement are being harvested. This is happening in Greece, Ireland, the United Kingdom and certainly across the United States of America. Advent is when God breaks through even if only for a moment. Be filled with the Holy Spirit. When that happens then one vital aspect of advent has become a reality in your life.

The Season of Advent is upon us again but what is Advent and what does this word Advent mean, and even more importantly, what is its significance? The church many years ago laid aside and set aside, these four Sundays before Christmas and called this season the Season of Advent. That is a very easy thing to do, but I wonder if many realise where all this comes from! What does Advent mean? It means the glory of the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. It signifies the breaking of the divine into human history. The supernatural broke into the natural. Economically and financially we are on the edge of precipice and it appears to be the result of deceit and corruption and arrogance and greed and gross mismanagement! Never before in my lifetime have we needed a significant Advent. We need a breakthrough from Almighty God to deal with the sin that has permeated every area of life.

There are things I am reading and hearing about in these present days and if they be true then we are in dangerous times indeed. “Oh God, give this perishing generation ten thousand John the Baptists!” proclaimed a prophetic preacher and passionate evangelist. This would bring about a spirituality of a very different nature! When looking around our nation in Scotland in the United Kingdom in general, sin needs to be challenged with light of Jesus Christ. Would it not be very similar in the United States of America? Debt and immorality and greed and corruption and mismanagement are ruining economies and personal finances. This is being written as Ireland face crippling financial burdens and it will affect millions. What is behind it all? The answer can come in one word and that one word is sin.

Nothing in our life happens without a purpose, and we can be rest assured that all of the things which we are most aversive to are the things to which we should be paying the most attention. When we learn to identify the negative patterns of thought and behavior in our life we can correct the problem and advance to a new stage of consciousness development, and thus evolve ourselves from ignorant to illumined.

Is there anyone who has not heard the expression, Born Again Christian? What exactly does it mean? The simple definition, according to modern Christianity, it is the message of John the Baptist: repent. After which, you achieve the born again status. And the payoff is the Kingdom of Heaven. But at what point do we connect-the-dots between John the Baptist’s message in Matthew 3:2 and Jesus’ message in John 3:7?

By now we have all heard the term, new world order. But what does it mean, exactly? Is it nothing more than a conspiracy theory? The generic definition alludes to a secret plan orchestrated by an extremely powerful and influential group of genetically-related people. This elite empire exists at the highest echelons of society. Their alleged goal is to create a one world fascist government (i.e. dictatorship), stripped of nationalistic and regional boundaries, obedient to their agenda.

The most Bible illiterate Christian can tell you; the words “The Rapture” are not biblical. However, they argue the concept can be found. As it turns out, quite a few of the most basic Christian beliefs cannot be found in the Bible.

In your growing years you had seen people who used to get spiritually inclined to Buddhism symbol whenever they had an encounter to face it one-to-one. Moreover there are a couple of friends in your friend circle who seem to have fallen in love with the power in the religion of Buddhism. Seeing an increasing number of your friends joining this religion, you would often wonder – what is so special about this religion which tells you about love and peace?

One of the most basic Christian beliefs completely eradicates the possibility of reincarnation. After transition, Christians spend eternity in heaven; and Sinners, hell. The End. Short and to the point! But is this idea at all biblical?
