How would you like to be called Demas? There are not many people called Demas, and I do not think I know anyone called Demas but come and meet this man Demas because there are many around. I know him well and his brother and his sister! He must have been a man of note to have his name coupled and linked with Luke. He is mentioned in that short letter to Philemon implying Demas had an honoured place in the exciting movement which carried the Gospel of Jesus Christ sweeping across the Middle East. Then, without any further explanation, comes this cry from the apostle Paul, imprisoned in Rome for his faith in Jesus Christ, that Demas was leaving the work and running away and giving in and scarpering! Whatever made him do that and did he know he would go down in history as a deserter?

Spirituality is not something you learn but it is born within. Those who are spiritual usually have an inner voice that directs and protects them from harm. If they have no sense of the Spirit then they will be the ones who commit all forms of crimes against humanity.

The energy of life is spirit and without it we are dead. Dead nerves feel nothing and the fact that religions brainwash people into believing that the dead have power is a ruse to drag them in.

The spiritual children of God are the ones who have communication with the Spirit. They are being called away from religious influences and are gathering in new places where the like-minded compare and enjoy the gifts bestowed upon them.

The spiritual people have an inkling that religions are wrong but they remain caught up in false statements because they fear hell. The latter is a terrorist weapon to keep them in line and it is causing many to ignore their inner feelings and even to suicide.

There are many things we don’t understand and when it comes to behaviour there are things that are outlawed because of religious pressure. Reincarnation is one of those things. Although religions are threatened by it there is a case to force its acceptance.

Spiritual growth and maturity are imperative for the believer today. Every believer has to take responsibility in their salvation. Without spiritual growth, the believer will become vulnerable to wickedness and deception.
