Many churches nowadays fail dismally in prayer, because we tend to just go through the motions – a very human thing to do. A Spirit-less church is a common phenomenon wherever we make the prayer ministry not important enough.

Conversion is the regenerative event. It is the moment that a decision is made for Christ. It is also the moment that Christ puts his Spirit into the emergent believer.

Jesus, himself, mandated that we go beyond our local town or city, into the country, beyond our country, into all the world. Not that Jesus is calling everyone to ‘go’, but he is calling us all to be involved – to pray, to support, or to go.

The Greatest Commandment, as it is translated, is the imperative that is to encapsulate all facets of the Christian life. The task of Christian discipleship, which is more a quest of ongoing sanctification, requires a right head (right thinking), right hands (right practice), and a right heart (the right motive).

We don’t know who wrote Psalm 119, but we do know much about him because he mentions his circumstances many times. In Psalm 119:153-160 he is especially concerned about his situation, for seven of the eight verses in this stanza make mention of it.

Emotion in prayer moves mountains. Without emotional force, nothing at all happens. Well, I will tell you: My best experience with prayer is the most peaceful, powerful, emotionally satisfied feeling there is. My worst experience with prayer is saying words as directed. Let me explain further.

The greatest principle in Scripture in terms of life and justice could well be to put the Kingdom and God’s righteousness first. And that – as an eventual consequence – if we continue to put the Kingdom and God’s righteousness first – then every appropriate blessing will be added at the appropriate time, in the appropriate way.
