Recently, I just had that sense, once again, that I was empty. Feeling empty is the calling card of the evil one; for the fullness of glory is otherwise known to a saved person like me and anyone saved.

I knew a woman once who so strongly identified with the Woman at the Well story (chapter 4 of John’s gospel) she felt as if condemned, because she didn’t know how to “go and sin no more.” I was convicted to explain that you shouldn’t feel condemned; that the Scriptures may convict us to change, but they are not intended to condemn us.

The Old Testament is chocked full of God’s mercy and grace, even as His people disappoint him at every turn. How could he love those people who turn against him when things aren’t going well for them? How about people who murder, blaspheme, are plagued with greed, and worship idols? The miracle of this story is that he does love the people of the Old Testament, just as he loves us today in spite of our sins.

It is a positive message of hope, and the people who deliver the messages are sincere – and this includes professional spiritual readers, such as clairvoyants and mediums.

Dealing with anger comes at two particular levels – most important is realising that it is your problem, and secondly devising strategies to actually dealing with it. Most people, when they get angry about something will instinctively blame someone else, either a particular person or if they cannot find someone specific, often a more global entity. The instinct to blame other people or God for what is happening or what has happened to us or other people is perhaps one of the most basic instincts there is in human beings.

Whatever the wound that has caused you so much pain, there is recovery. Overcoming the brokenness caused by divorce, abandonment, childhood sexual abuse, parental neglect, physical or emotional abuse, the death of a loved one or a broken relationship can be yours. Face your fears, work at recovering, never, never give up and you too can overcome the shadows of unwanted emotions.

Giving hope to someone who needs it, whether their situation be a desperate one or simply a need for inspiration is perhaps the most important gift one can give, as well as in many ways being the most difficult thing to help instigate. It is often easier to give a false sense of hope than a real sense of hope, and this is often done as a reaction to a difficult situation that people find it difficult to cope with. Real hope has to come from within, but it is certainly possible for other people to help…
