To live the life that Source/God designed for YOU, detaching from the ego is a must. The acronym for EGO is: Edging God Out. We do this without realizing it. The definition of ego is: The “I” or self of any person; a person as thinking, feeling, willing and distinguishing itself from the selves of others and from objects of its thought. The ego is all about self. For many, the ego is what defines a person for who they perceive themselves to be.

What is mystery: Mystery is something that is not common, unbelievable and is hidden. Freewill is the ability to choose for yourself in any and all areas of your life once you have reached the age of accountability. Prior to that age, decisions are made for us by our parents, guardians, teachers, grandparents and many others, but the day will come when your decisions will be YOUR decisions, thus the consequences will also be YOUR own.

One Power stands for all eternity in the holy establishment of life. Such a Power divulges power quietly, known as much to the heavens and all creation as it is within the mind of one. Such a quiet Power could, however, never be quantified… We must know that this Power for Life is the engine behind all generation and regeneration, as well as the revelation of all wisdom and sanctification of all worth. It is the power behind all things as much as it is a power that wishes to be for us, not against us.

We ought to know, each of us is a scribe, by reckoning of Jesus’ intent. The treasures of heaven are inordinately important; they are the meaning, the nexus, of life. If we assert over ourselves the role of scribe – the master of the household, with control over wares – we take on a heavy responsibility, but we’re blessed by a great privilege. The scribe in each of us is serious enough about life to know that heaven is in the redemption of treasure, real treasure, disposed for the blessing of God. Such scribes enter willingly and enthusiastically into their training, knowing they are being equipped to do heavenly work.

Swedenborg’s ideas are in line with these psychological concepts of affective, cognitive and behavioural function. The three-fold terminology, that permeates all of his writings, reflects this. Together his ideas give a holistic theory – a very modern approach to human problems. By this, I mean his system of thought tackles the whole person – the heart, head and hands of daily living. He writes about good or bad desires of the will, true or false ideas of the understanding and useful or disorderly actions of the body. The feeling, thinking and doing of daily living. His principle that influx adjusts itself according to efflux is relevant to how one can find wholeness and harmony in oneself.

Within each of us resides a spirit power that is as real as anything on the material plane. This spirit power helps us connect to the great Divine, and it guides us on our path in life. We can be open to the spirit power and listen to its wise words, or completely closed to it and never even know it exists. Many people are like this.

I could be an old Scrooge during the holidays because the kids don’t have a lot of time to spend with me, but I don’t think that helps anybody’s situation. I enjoy what I enjoy and I try to enjoy what they enjoy, too! Does that make any sense?

Whenever we accept the conditions of life, without denial, anger, bargaining, or depression, we have Life’s Destiny Seed at our grasp. When we go this way, God gives us the keys to the city of our souls. And we go on to becoming the persons God destined us to be. Only then can we be content.

I’m going to start this article with a confession. A confession that I was one the BIGGEST skeptic around. When it came to matters of the spirit, or the idea that we are anything MORE than a random pattern of electrical energy in physical form, I was the biggest objector there was. When my religious friends would tell me about their spiritual experiences, I would shake my head, laugh a little bit….and say, I don’t believe.

Enjoy life. Think of death. Appreciate the difference between the two; that neither is superior to the other. Yet, all meaning is to be validated, with a resounding finality, in a realm to come. Let us stretch forward with purpose until that day.
