Back in 1983, I began reading “A Course in Miracles” and doing the daily lessons in thought reversal. However, the text part of the Course was overwhelming to me then; I felt I was too young to really understand it, and I was in my early thirties. I did realize that this book held all the answers to life’s greatest questions and offered a new way of seeing things.

Do you want to know what your life purpose is? Are you searching for a career that holds daily meaning and passion for you? Do you feel like that path is still out of sight?

In this fast paced, high tech cyberspace world we now live in, few of us can truly comprehend simplicity or the idea of living a simple life. Granted, there are those living off the grid and growing gardens that are pursuing this goal, but most have no idea what the word “simplicity” even means. We seem to be making our lives more complicated with all the technological breakthroughs, not any simpler.

One of the biggest obstacles to the success of a man in the Kingdom of God (KOG) is his heartfelt understanding of who he is (his perspective as it relates to God). There is a great deal of pressure for a man to “live right” according to the norms and mores of our society.

Most people today buy insurance to make sure they maintain the status quo in their lives, be it their home, car, health or life. However, the truth of the matter is, there is really nothing to fear. Insurance is based solely on fear and the thought that life might deal us a “bad hand” and we want some insurance to make things better when they go badly. But here’s a thought: What if we came to the conclusion that there really is nothing to fear? Then what?

There is a rhythm of grace that is unforced and without stress. Guilt and feeling obligated is the surest way to lose that sense of unforced rhythm.

How small are your present problems or situations? Are they too small to bring to God? Probably not. That’s simply because God is in the details. Learn to take even your smallest problems to God, and know that, ‘If it’s important enough for you to consider, it’s important enough for God to deliver’.

How great is God? Can one ever completely comprehend the majesty of God? He extends Himself beyond our understanding, and even what we are capable of learning about God is limited by Him. That alone should encourage you to know your problems are nothing for Him to solve.

Every conscious moment subsists in works for which we’re to do, those that glorify God somehow. This is not just about ‘work’… some works are beyond work, unto rest and the salacious revival of our spirits to become better for the Lord than we previously were.

Too often our minds tell us that the first thing we hear must be right. It’s called the law of first impression. But if we do this with the Bible, we’re in deep trouble. The Old Testament must be understood in light of the new, because the Old foreshadowed the New. Christians must begin in the New, with the New Covenant gospel, and then allow the Old to substantiate it. Thus Paul says to only minister the New Testament (II Cor 3:6). By this he does not mean to avoid the Old, but he does mean not to live by the Old, but by the New.
