Philosophy is the study of realities, pursuit of wisdom, and commentary on general principles of life. It is concerned with a search of eternal truth, both conceptual as well as practical. It has five areas of search – Epistemology, Metaphysics, Aesthetics, Ethics and History. The instrument used by philosophy to unearth realities or to discover truth is logic, both inductive as well deductive. Educational philosophy is a branch of general philosophy, it gains strength from epistemology. It formulates the aims and objectives or contents of education that, in turn, influence the whole learning environment, society, and future generations.

Here I continue from a previous article, The Essentials of BEING Spiritual, and go into the key qualities required to “getting spiritual.” It’s not about what you believe but about how you live with integrity. A commitment to truth is foundational for being grounded and connected to reality, the stepping stone to living in full presence. This is the 1st of 3 articles on how to “get” spiritual. These 3 follow the introductory one of what qualifies “being” spiritual.

“Come: praise the LORD!” shrieks the psalmist in bellowed eulogy. Psalm 149 is a praise hymn of celebration, for the “faithful” know the faithfulness of their God. They sing in faith for quick mind of a history that testifies to such faith.

We live in an upside-down world. What could normally be termed “success” comes via an opposite media – sacrifice. We get more for less. Well intentioned deeds have no basis in truth unless they cling, in some form, to the concept – sacrifice.
