I had time to reflect back on my life over the holidays and I started feeling sorry for myself. Why does God not create us equal at birth so we have the chance for the same opportunities when we start our lives?

Although 2011 begins a new decade, the new numerological cycle actually started in 2010. The year 2010 was the beginning of a new cycle and brought with it an opportunity to advance through creative endeavors. It was a new beginning, and can be illustrated by looking at our mass experiences.

Thought by some to be a rather formal and inhibited religious group, Hasidic Jews are often actually very exuberant, joyful and passionate in their worship. I first became intrigued by this fascinating group of mystics when I learned that Hasidics “emphasize the presence of God in all of one’s surroundings at all times.” Historically and even today Hasidim are known for the exuberance of their worship. This may includes ecstatic prayer, heartfelt emotion, boundless love, singing, dancing and inevitable joy as the soul is elevated in communion with God. In fact, when the Hasidic Movement began in the 1700s, these rebellious worshipers were sometimes ridiculed by envious mainstream Jews for their emotional and ecstatic forms of worship.

If we know the foundation of Christian living, and adopt it then the church will certainly be a success. Our goal is to please our Heavenly Father, which is done by us developing our relationship with his Son, Jesus Christ. A relationship with Jesus Christ requires that we attend church regularly, but it also requires that we uphold the Word of God. Temptation will certainly come from the evil one to test our love for Jesus Christ, but remember, if we are able to prove that our love for Jesus Christ is real then the evil one will flee.

A new beginning. A fresh start. Sometimes, that’s all we need. Leaving behind the old bad habits and sad memories, turning a new page.
