At the moment I’m working on healing my adrenals as I have adrenal fatigue. I’m taking sea salt in water and lots of herbs and supplements and taking time out to get totally horizontal. Aside from the ongoing earthquakes where I live which hasn’t helped, and turning 50 in a few days, I’m slowly starting to wind down and can start to see just how much stress I have been under for quite some time.

When the abyss takes us into its greedy gulp and a languor of joy fills the life void, there’s a sense of no return. Hopelessness beckons and helplessness with it. And yet, strange is the reality afterwards. Life has never been better.

Pride is the stumbling block that causes us to defend our opinions, right or wrong. It is the basis for simple disagreements that in the gravest of situations escalate into all manner of war and oppression. We want to be free, and to express that freedom we want to be in control. We want to feel important, and we want to be right, but our way is not God’s way!

A spiritually advanced being shows signs of joy, peace and contentment, and these qualities combine to produce a harmonious life. Watch the progress of a bird in flight, whether small, quick flying birds that shoot and curl through the sky, or the slow, majestic movement of larger birds, and you will see that they all have one thing in common, a complete harmony with the environment they are in. In order to attain this sort of grace in life, one needs balance. You could almost say that this should be the objective of any single individual while on this earth, to achieve balance. But what does this mean in practice?
