Spiritual patience is a test of man’s fortitude. The days seem longer than ever and the nights are even worse. It is a time of waiting on the Lord to reveal the answers to our numerous questions. It is a time for searching within the depths of our beings for strength to carry on down this mysterious path we have chosen to follow. It is a period of trial and like every other period in our spiritual existence it has a sequence of events we must live through to get past this ordeal.

There are certain aspects of spiritual wisdom that defy worldly wisdom and the general scope of our understanding. They are there for us to learn from and realize that the path of spirituality is not based on obeying the laws of our world but rather the laws of God.

No matter what is against us – and the worse they might be – these are rendered void against the power of God. Furthermore, the harder things seem, the bigger the victory of salvation and glory accorded when we respond the right way. The test of godly obedience is before us; obedience is all that matters; we trust.

In our spiritual existence we are all responsible for each other because together we make one whole which is the spirit of God. This means none of us is more important than the other and we need each other to survive this long journey of eternal existence. This level of responsibility is easier to implement in society than in the spiritual world. In society we are elected to positions of authority in politics, law or even religion making it easier to implement the laws that we want to see in place. This is different in the spiritual world.

Most of the time when we try to visualize where God is we look to the sky. We know his power exist and believe that we can call for him in times of trouble. We tend to believe that he works a miracle through the skies and eventually on earth to make our desires possible. The truth is God truly resides within us through the Holy Ghost. God does not need to perform miracles from the skies to meet our desires. We perform whatever miracles are necessary to meet our desires by the strength of God within us.

The writer of the letter to the Hebrews is underlining that we have a God who speaks. He spoke to these men and women then, and He speaks to others, and these are God’s famous last words. Let me encourage you to take time and make time to read through these opening Chapters of this amazing letter to the Hebrew Christians, written some thirty years after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Having started reading and studying this amazing letter to the Hebrew Christians we come across many profound and everlasting truths in the first few sentences. Very few of us could even attempt to write a letter which is so pregnant with meaning and relevance? If we have paid careful attention, then, we must pay even more careful attention, and to what? We must pay attention and give heed to what we have heard, and to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to the Word of God which we have in Jesus.

If God is for us, how can He allow such difficult seasons of trials and attacks to come in our life? Well we will never have all the answers in this lifetime, but we can gain insights to help us on our journey.
