This is not an ordinary building that is being built. This ongoing project is supervised by The Master Architect. He is using specially processed materials for this building, as the stones must go through a special process before they can be used. This project is using stones that have come from around the world.

When therapists and spiritual directors begin to talk about the specific goals of healing, the language of each discipline begins to lose its uniqueness. Wholeness is wholeness. Connection with others is called relationship or community. The ability to be vulnerable and trusting is called an open heart. Authenticity is simply a deep knowing of who we really are; otherwise known by spiritual directors as soul.

Teachings of the mystics over the centuries have guided us in spiritual growth and self-awareness. We already posses all the peace and happiness of the Universe. Our spiritual work is simply to discover what is in the way of our seeing this reality for ourselves.

Have you ever carefully considered the fact that there’s enough power in you to turn any situation around in your favor? This is what James meant when he said that you have the power to change anything through prayer. You can change anything because the divine power necessary to cause that change is already inside you; it was deposited in you the moment you received the Holy Spirit into your life. The word power here refers to the dynamic ability to cause changes.

This is all it takes. Chispa is the internal energy from within. Without Chispa, there is no fire or passion. Just like a gas stove needs a minimal spark to ignite a fire, so to does the soul. A life without passion is a life void of meaning and purpose.

For many of us Women Spiritual Leaders, we are familiar with the word “epiphany” in its colloquial meaning… “a sudden understanding, or insight, especially into the meaning of something”. As we honor the celebration of the “Epiphany” of the Christian tradition which this year occurs on January 6th, we would invite you to discover, or reaffirm, ways in which we might invite epiphanies in order to help with our ministries, our practices, and our day to day living.

Advent is considered to be the start of the liturgical year in Western Christianity. The celebration is alive with tradition, from the colors of the candles and the banners within the churches and raiment worn by clergy and other spiritual leaders, to the hymns and in songs sung by choirs and congregations alike. The air is expectant, and the congregants eagerly look forward to the culmination of the festivities in the celebration of the birth of Jesus on Christmas morning. For those of us women who are spiritual leaders in our respective religious communities; for those of us who have solo or partnership practices as spiritual counselors, energy and other holistic healers; and for those of us who are feeling the flames of longing to birth our own entities, “advent” could be pregnant with enormous meaning.

Have you noticed that as much as you pride yourself in your inclusionary thinking, you are still making judgments about people and situations? The first half of the fifth verse of the Tao tells us the wise (wo)man does not hold anyone or anything as especially dear or disfavored. (S)he offers up her treasure to everyone. When practicing the Tao, one eliminates as many judgments as possible. The simplest way is to recognize yourself in everyone.

There is a well know saying, “Seek and you will find”. It is like, “work and you will get the reward the work you do has to give”.

Are you confused, afraid to know God? Do you want to belong to God? Why are you afraid? Jesus brings salvation.

The other day I took down our Christmas Tree. There is something bittersweet about this activity for me every year. The season is so short, the tree that I so painstakingly decorated is now weathered, with branches drooping, falling needles, and decorations that don’t look as bright.
