What You Can Do about Climate Change | Eckhart Tolle on the Current Ecological Situation

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus talks about the eye being the lamp of the body. A strict reading of this scripture shows that he’s talking about generosity, selfishness, and what we truly hold dear…material possessions and money, or God.

A few years ago, on the first Saturday of January, around 80 of us met in an Inverness Hotel to consider the whole matter of ‘Revival’ in the Church of Jesus Christ. Led by Dr Paul Tan, a mature Chinese Christian from Singapore, three questions guided our thinking and praying. What is Revival?

Amid all the chaffs of light that fill my mind’s eye, I gaze into times long past, simultaneously aware of the now. Within the memories there dances past the faces and places, and times well known and so very remembered.

Many studies on happiness have agreed that connecting to your spirituality is essential. The paths to our spirituality are many and varied but with these common features.

I know that sometimes when you pray it may seem like an eternity before God answers your prayers and when God does not move as fast as you want, then you may become unhappy and frustrated. Be that butterfly. Fold your wings and just “be” for a few precious moments in time. Nothing to accomplish now, no battles to fight, no points to make. Just be, quietly, peacefully, at ease with yourself, nobody is watching you or judging you. You can now, for a few moments, be a complete failure in the eyes of the world and no one will criticize you.

Don’t underestimate the power of prayer. When I talk about prayer, I mean talking to God. I am not talking about saying The Lord’s Prayer or a standard, memorized prayer.

One of the things that we lose sometimes is our passion for things that we once had and dreamed of. Have you lost your passion for that thing or things that you once had?
