F it were possible to ‘keep doing what you are doing’, no longer would you find your life separated by fractured unsettled pieces. You would flow like the water as it gently moves in the direction of the irrefutable source without concern for barriers, restraints, and/or seeming complications.

The resting place for the presence of God was to be Zion or Jerusalem. We read of that in verse 13. Zion was nothing until God chose it. It is the same with us. David captured is and Solomon built it up, and the Lord God dwelt in it. Jesus captures us and the Holy Spirit and the Word of God builds us up and the Holy Spirit dwells within us. The parallel is astonishing. What a place to dwell! It was like a large dry dusty saucer, until God made Zion His dwelling place. And, we were weak frail vulnerable jars of clay until Jesus Christ chose us and chose to dwell in us by His Spirit. If there is one thing which will help us cultivate Personal Holiness it is this; the coming again of Jesus.

“Lord, remember me” is a worthy and sound and good prayer. Psalm 132 opens with prayer. The people were remembering David the King and some of the trials and hardships which he experienced. David had made a vow. David was seriously seeking a place for the Lord God Almighty. David is so Lord centred and not ‘me centred’. Whatever David’s faults, he kept true to the living God. This can prevent us from looking out there for blessing. You come across people who are always looking for blessing out there.

Morals are defined as, “Dealing or concerned with establishing principles of right and wrong in behavior.” Truth is defined as, “Conformity to rule; exactness; correctness; genuineness; that which conforms to fact or reality.” As you can see from these definitions, these two do go together.

The fact is we are not mere men, but we can act like mere men. Just because I run up and down the street barking like a dog does not make me a dog but in the moment I am acting like one. Beloved in the same way just because you are saved doesn’t mean that you can’t act like an unsaved person – you certainly can.
