For some of us the thought of trusting a power outside of ourselves is a threatening concept, especially if we are used to being in control. Some of us go through life trapped by another illusion.

You have probably heard the saying, “life is a two way street”. This essentially means that one cannot expect to be on the receiving end of every relationship, all of the time. For any relationship to grow and mature there has to be a balance of giving, and receiving.

Do you hold on to your past and think you will never overcome it? Are you longing for something new to come and change your surroundings? Maybe you have been holding onto past regrets or past hurts? In this article you will find help to overcome and release your past to reach for the new beginning God has for you.

Throughout the history of man and his knowledge of God, only one book is referred to as the Book. I do not know how many books you have got there, but the truth stands that you can never read a better book until you have read the Book.

Serving anyone but ourselves is tough enough…But serving a demanding master in a Recession where there are so many assignments of comfort to be allocated is even tougher. This article talks about serving God when you feel offended or unappreciated.

Loving people around us is a compulsory act that we Christians must imbibe or emulate. It is the command of God to love our neighbour as ourselves. This could be found in several books of the bible. As Jesus loved us; came and died for us; we are also enjoined to love our neighbours, friends and even our enemies in the same manner. To be complete in Him, we must display this pure hearted love towards all. We have to walk in love, do everything in love and correct one another with love.

How many different diets or exercise programs have you ‘tried’ to follow in the past? How many times have you received advice from different people about what is working so amazingly for them only to ‘try’ it and get zero results. As believers, God invites us to stop ‘trying’ and start trusting (Proverbs 3:5). He wants us to trust in His almighty power, in His never-ending grace, and His ability handle every single circumstance, situation and stronghold that the enemy will try to throw at us. He will even help us subdue our own flesh! But how do we do this? He wants us to follow His son Jesus.

Prayer may be oral or mental, occasional or constant, ejaculatory or formal. Christians do pray to beseech the Lord and make supplication to Him. As children of God, wanting to be complete in Him, we must learn how to pray for oneself, the nation ad other people.

This should strike a chord with everyone, for none of us can help being slightly detached from ourselves – It’s an unfortunate by-product of being human. We do have senses, a mind, and the emotions after all. It appears we ourselves get in our own way – We’re barriers to the best views of the world available.

We know from scientific radioactivity studies of the Earth and Sun that our solar system probably formed about 4.5 billions years ago, which means that the Universe must be at least twice that old and probably older, maybe twenty billion years or so. Therefore, whatever we do for posterity isn’t going to matter much in light of the huge expanse of time and space that is a fact in front of us every star-lit night. To think otherwise would be more than folly; it would border on arrogance and conceit regarding our place in this universe, which is no more than an insignificant speck of dust.

Some people of faith, Christians and others, worry about the increasing levels of freedom demonstrated in society today. They are wrong to worry. Freedom in itself, is not something to be feared but a perfect state to be longed for. Jesus’ greatest moment of liberation, was his decision to give in to his fate. When people give in to their destiny, whatever it might be, they are carrying out the will of God, for our destinies are written in a divine code within us. What is worrying, is when the perfect will of God is attacked by wrong thinking.

When we heap adulation on talented individuals, or even perhaps on individuals with little talent, we invest our hope in people. Our modern, twenty-first century society, is hysterical in its pursuit of mortal, living heroes. The sports and entertainment industries have been the most successful in producing such worshipful figures, and a recent survey of children around the world demonstrated that our youth have no more ambition than to be the next Beckham or the next Katie Price. There is nothing wrong with being Beckham or Katie Price, or any other successful person who succeeds in captivating our imagination, but it is wrong, and unfair, to invest them with all the hopes of mankind.
