Being a Christian you have this amazing gift of being able to interact with the Most High God! God is in our lives in every way possible directing our paths. Amazing, and what amazes me further is the fact that we get to speak with our Creator on a continual basis, day by day, hour by hour, even down to the second if we choose so. This act is called prayer.

Bill Maher, on his Late Night show on HBO, said he wasn’t spiritual and certainly wasn’t religious. Many people these days are saying they are spiritual but not religious. What’s the difference?

What must it have meant to these men and women and what does it mean today when we say, May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ,and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all? This must have been a strange thing to say to these people who had been steeped in philosophy or paganism. This was so new and so fresh and almost novel, but yet it was all so real. It was part of their corporate experience, and it was part of their personal experience. Is it part of yours?

We mistake great winds, earthquakes, and fires as the voice of God. Most times it is the still small voice. Very few people can hear it. It is still which means it is stable and has no uncertainly or wavering. It is trustworthy. It is also small meaning very quiet, hardly audible. You have to be very alert to hear it. However, you will hear it.

We were strolling along Ben Yehuda Street, in central Jerusalem, when we were met by young Israelis offering slices of apple dipped in honey. It was Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, which was last Friday, and the phrase means the head of the year. September is the month when Rosh Hashanah occurs.
