Love is Not Convenient

I am sure you have heard this statement many times, but like most people you take these common statements for what they are at face value and never try to dissect them to see if there is any validity hidden within, and in this case, of course there is. I do want to assure you that I am not on a crusade to push the theory of reincarnation on you if you are not ready to understand, and in fact, until you are ready, you will never understand.

God has the power not to only change impossibility to possibility but also bring out something from nothing. He works most often in impossibility to show man the riches of His power and glory. His ways are fearful. People tend to appreciate God more when things they thought are ever permanent are changed by God in the twinkling of an eye.

We are on assignment… there is a destiny and an assignment for all even in times of recession. For the Christian this is a powerful aspect of our lives. Indeed we are like yeast with potent ingredients that will impact the whole irreversibly. This implies that we should not be discouraged by what we see, but appreciate the hidden things working for us.

The earth and all of God’s creation is His gift to mankind. Everything that has ever been created is good and was created by God (Genesis 1; Psalms 19:1-6; Psalm 65).

Faith is the ability to cast into the question the things we think we know, in favour of open consideration of matters, in the search of truth. It plainly doesn’t make sense to let go of something that looks as if it needs to be held tight. Such is the tension of faith it requires us to do so.

Those who were leading this procession gave the blind man a row. “Be quiet. Sh! Sh! Don’t make such a noise.” Were they embarrassed? Were they annoyed? Bartimaeus was crying out for mercy, and they were saying “Sh! Sh!” He shouted all the louder. He was blind! His sight depended upon his meeting Jesus – Jesus Christ, the King. How great is your need at times? What do you really need from Jesus? Is there something that only Jesus Christ can give? Is there something that you need to meet Jesus about? Kingdom power flowed. Kingdom sight was given. Kingdom discipleship resulted.

In these trying times we are all living through worldwide I thought I would post an updated article I wrote many years ago to help anyone who needs a helpful ‘mind shift’ during this C-19 pandemic affecting all of us. Perhaps you’ve heard the story of the man caught in a flood who had a deep faith in God. As the flood waters rose, his neighbors told him, “You have to leave, the flood is going to wash everything away.

Doing something virtuous is hard because we are not used to it. It is not because it is not in our nature. If it wasn’t in our nature, then we shouldn’t even begin to talk about Enlightenment and Buddhahood; godliness and going to heaven.

There can be a desperation when we see the desolation resulting from a combination of the work of the enemy and rebellion of man. He has released His handbrake, and it is like a car hurtling down a hill out of control. We see that throughout society in these present days. Today it is what man thinks about God, and what man thinks about the Bible, and what man thinks about morality, that has become the accepted rule, and it is all because man has not gone into the sanctuary, and now virtually refuses to go into the sanctuary, and God lets man see what his philosophies lead to and what his views produce in society. I have had to read psychologists reports for Children’s Panel Hearings over these twelve past years, and all I can say at times is, “God, help us!”

Have you been through the fire? Fiery trials are not the most welcome of occurrences in our Christian life. Peter tells us not to be surprised when fiery trials come, but most of us are indeed surprised, and we don’t always rejoice in these ordeals. Yet do we realize that our main goal in life should be to become holy as our Father is holy? And sometimes trials by fire, difficult situations that test our metal, are the only way to bring about that holiness.

It is grasping onto external things for happiness that stops people from growing spiritually. You can do many of the most profound spiritual practices but it will not make an inkling of difference if it is done with grasping in your mind.
